Doting parents these days spare no expense to make their children’s rooms as beautiful as any other room in the house and there are an incredible variety of designs for children’s rooms. In my opinion it requires more creativity and innovation to design children’s rooms because you have to take into account so many factors such as comfort, functionality and optimal use of space. Not that other rooms in the house don’t need to be comfortable but kid’s rooms require enhanced comfort levels because obviously that is what matters to children the most and children’s rooms are always more activity centred. Secondly, children’s rooms have a lot more knick knacks like toys, school and story books, notebooks, lots more dirty clothes etc which tend to create more of a mess. Hence, children’s rooms need a lot more storage space. Moreover, since children’s rooms are not usually the largest rooms, this storage space needs to be innovatively placed so as to make optimal use of space. As a corollary to the innovative use of space, loft beds are more a less a norm in children’s rooms.
But loft beds are more often the norm in children’s rooms not only because they save space but also because children absolutely love loft beds. I think children love loft beds is because sleeping or climbing onto a loft bed somehow fulfils their fantasies of being a part of some Tarzan like adventure in a jungle and climbing onto a loft bed is akin to an adventure for children. The Italian furniture design company Tumidei has an incredible collection of kid’s and teenager’s loft beds which cater to all kinds of tastes. Not only are these loft beds beautiful to look at with light and airy colors like mauves, light blues, beige etc they are also very innovative designed. Despite the fact that the rooms are designed for children, Tumidei’s designs and colors are very tasteful and sophisticated. The Tiramolla Collection demonstrates that small homes need not necessarily be uncomfortable and innovative designs with optimal use of space can make a small home as comfortable as a large home. Children are happier and thus more creative in rooms such as these which are designed keeping in mind the special needs of children.
